For the first time, a train will arrive from Aswan to Sinai, to be a new artery linking the Sinai Peninsula to the motherland. Sinai is a dear part of Egypt, as it is the Holy Land, the crossing point for the heavenly religions, God honored it by mentioning it in the Holy Qur’an (Bythe fig, and the olive, By Mount Sinai,) the prophets crossed the lands of Sinai towards the Nile Valley... Prophet Abraham, peace be upon him, crossed it, and Moses bin Imran, peace be upon him, lived in it, where he received the Sharia from the God... Maryam (Mary), mother of Isa (Jesus), peace be upon her, crossed it.

Amid the Sinai Liberation Day celebrations, I am very happy with operating the first train, constructing roads, opening and repairing roads, paving roads, running trains, and opening tunnels, which represent extended lifelines linking this Holy Land to the rest of the country. Indeed, throughout history, Sinai was the fortress that protects us against the attacks of the Hyksos, Tatars, Crusaders, and Israelis. Sinai will remain the heart, protection and security.

With operating first train into it, I feel that it has returned to us completely, as the hand of real reconstruction and construction has been extended to it. For the first time in 56 years... the railway break into the desert and the first train crosses the land of Sinai coming from Aswan after rehabilitating and raising the efficiency of the “Al-Ferdan-Taba” railway line as it was stolen in 2011.

Sinai now is linked to the Nile Valley. We now have 6 tunnels established in record time, which is considered a miracle by all standards, the Sinai desert turned into green farms and now has 8 universities, 3 government universities, and 5 private universities, in addition to many schools, whether governmental or language, to create large urban and development clusters that attract students and parents. The dream comes true and the land of Sinai became the true extension and depth of Egypt, inhabited and populated by Egyptians. It is the most precious part of our lands. We paid the price for restoring it with the blood of our righteous martyrs.

Even when terrorism appeared, Egypt was able to eliminate it. Sinai will remain the protecting shield against any attack from the East. This comes amidst anxiety and unrest on our eastern borders, but Egypt, its army will will always protect Sinai, the dear precious spot that will remain in the heart of every Egyptian.
