Libyans celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Libyan Army. A major celebration will be held tomorrow, Sunday, in Cairo in the Abu Rawash area, near the monument of the founding of the National Army.
Libyans celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the army on August 9, 1952, after declaring independence on December 24, 1951.
Historians say that in 1957 the government decided to establish a military college in the city of Benghazi, and in November 1962, Admiral Mansour Badr was assigned to establish the Navy.
While the Libyan Air Force was established in August 1963, the Air Force was led by a group of officers, headed by Officer Al-Hadi Al-Hasoumi, Officer Muhammad Shunib and Officer Salah El-Din Al-Hensheri. Then, in 1968, an Air Defense Unit was established.
Meanwhile, Al-Ashraf tribes in Libya said that “The hour of work had begun,” and that the moment of salvation from the darkness and the oppressors had descended on the nation's sky.
In a statement issued Saturday, the tribes affirmed their support for what they described as the rescue battle that remains of the nation's dignity, according to a report published by the Saudi Press Agency, "SPA".
The statement mentioned the Libyan tribes' conference was held in Mareb and Warshafana, adding that the next battle for Libya and its generations is focused on moving forward to consolidate its national democratic project, and to support the efforts of those who dream of the return of their kidnapped homeland, and to stand with the unity of Libya.
