After El-Mogy graduated from High Institute of Social services in 1966 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, he started his career with renowned comedian Samir Ghanem, the late star Al-Deif Ahmed and the remarkable actor George Sidhom in the stand-up comedy trio ‘Tholathy Adwaa Al-Masrah’, which had its heyday in the 1960s.
El-Mogy is a talented actor who has appeared in films, television series, and plays. Shabaan made his acting debut on television in the (Welcome to New Residents) in 1984. His breakthrough role was as a drug dealer in the comedy, social-satire 'ElKitkat' (1991).
El-Mogy is well-known for his seminal works 'Fondoq Ashghal Shaqa' (Hard Labor Hotel1) in 1969, 'Hob Fawq El-Sahab' (1986) , Ightisab (1989), and 'Tata Wa Rika Wa Kazem Bey' (1995).
The talented actor was the recipient of numerous awards and nominations for excellence throughout his successful career, including the Damascus Festival award for (Circle of Rage), and the National culture award.
The late comedian died on September 25, 1998, in Cairo due to a heart attack.
