The Lebanese Parliament, in its plenary session, held yesterday evening, Tuesday, made amendments to a number of articles of the law on lifting banking secrecy after discussing it item by item in an extensive manner.
It is worth noting that the Lebanese President has refused to sign it in its previous form and returned it to the House of Representatives by an official decree of the Parliament.
During the session, the legislative body approved the articles of a draft law approving a loan agreement provided by the World Bank (WB) worth 150 million US dollars to implement the emergency response project to secure wheat supplies.
The assembly also approved the draft law of a loan agreement between the Lebanese Republic and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development to implement the project to strengthen Lebanon's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
