Lebanon Locks Down 170 Towns, Shuts Entertainment Venues

Lebanon on Sunday announced the imposition of a curfew on 170 villages and towns, including dozens that were completely closed for eight days, to confront the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Interior Ministry also ordered bars, pubs and nightclubs nationwide closed "until further notice."

Because of the stifling economic crisis that country suffered, the ministry couldn't lock down the whole country.

The coronavirus cases in Lebanon rose to 52,558, including 455 deaths. According to AFP.

It is noteworthy that, on the fourth of this month, the Lebanese authorities imposed a lockdown for eight days on 111 villages and towns.

The authorities announced their fear of the continuous rise of cases, which could overwhelm the country's fragile healthcare sector.
