Kunafa is a renowned dessert in the Middle East especially during the holy month of Ramadan. It’s baked in no time and its ingredients are always within reach.
Here’s how to prepare Kunafa bites; the small version of the traditional round Kunafa.
Ingredients:
¼ kilo Kunafa pastry
¼ cup powdered sugar
½ cup butter
Nuts
Syrup Ingredients
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup powdered milk
2 tbsp butter
1 cube "Kiri" cheese
¼ cub warm water
Recipe
In a bowel, shred the Kunafa pastry in to small pieces, then melt butter and add to the pastry.
Use your fingers to rub the pastry well with butter till it's all soaked up.
Add the powdered sugar and repeat the same process till the pastry is completely covered with butter and sugar.
Bring a small cup and add a base layer of kunafa pastry inside while bringing the pastry up to the sides in order to make a hole.
Set nuts inside this hole then add another layer of Kunafa on the top.
Press down lightly then turn the cup upside down in a greasy baking tray.
Preheat the oven to 200°C and set the tray from 20 to 30 minutes till Kunafa bites get a golden brown color.
After you get it out, pour the syrup on its top, add some nuts for garnishing and enjoy your yummy dessert.
