Kroos saves Germany, scoring free kick against Sweden

Germany's hopes of reaching the World Cup knockout phase up in the air, before Toni Kroos scored a well placed stoppage-time free-kick.

Germany came back from a humiliating defeat, that would have put their qualification chances at the balance as Toni Kroos scored a phenomenal stoppage-time winner to secure a dramatic 2-1 victory over Sweden.

Kroos placed a free kick onto goal in the 95th minute and saved 10 man Germany when Jerome Boateng was sent off with eight minutes remaining.

Sweden began the match attacking the Germany defense with intensity, Germany was uncoordinated in the first opening 25 minutes of the match. Toivonen scored the first goal for Swedein the 32nd minute, Marco Reus would then even the score in the 48th minute of the second half, before Kroos netting his freekick in the 95th minute.

With this victory, Germany has temporarily redeemed their Loss to Mexico and haulted the progression of Sweden, German now has a deciding match against South Korea.
