Egypt's Dar al-Iftaa explains an Islamic value. So that people learn the truth of Islam and the morals of the Prophet peace be upon him.
The Prophet’s Journey to Taif:
In the tenth year of his mission, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to Taif, which is about 60 miles from Mecca.
He traveled on foot, accompanied only by his servant Zayd Ibn Harithah (may God be pleased with him). Every time they stopped by a village or town, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would invite its people to Islam to no avail. When he arrived at Taif he sought out three brothers who were the leading figures of the tribe of Thaqif, the dominant tribe of Taif.
He sat with them and invited them to the way of God and asked them to help him in championing the cause of God against the enemies of Islam.
However, they all vehemently refused, shouting abuses at him. One of them said, “I will rip the hangings off the Ka’ba if God really sent you.” Another said, “Did God not find anyone better than you?”, while the third one said, “By God! I will never speak to you, for if you are a prophet then you are dangerous to engage in conversation and if you are lying then I should not be speaking to someone like you.” Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon you) left them and said, “Then please do not tell others about me.” (The Sealed Nectar, p.148).
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed with the people of Taif for ten days during which time he invited every respected figure to Islam.
They all rejected him and spurred their slaves to insult and pelt him with stones as he and Zayd were leaving the city.
Zayd valiantly tried to shield the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with his own body from the onslaught of stones being hurled at them. After they had walked for three miles, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his companion arrived at a vineyard where they rested under the shade of its trees.
