The deputy governor of the Kherson Region, Kirill Stremousov, died on Wednesday in a road accident, TASS reported.

"It is true," the press service said. However, the circumstances of the incident are not specified.

"Kirill Sergeyevich Stremousov has died," the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, announced on messaging app Telegram.

Aksyonov called Stremousov a "true fighter" and a "Russian patriot."

In the same vein, Acting Governor of the Kherson region Volodymyr Saldo commented: "It’s very hard for me to say that Kirill Stremousov died today. He died in the Kherson region, moving in a car that got into an accident."
