US Special climate envoy, John Kerry said that COP-27 activities in Egypt over the past 5 days 'have warmed our hearts', appreciating the Egyptian efforts in support of the climate issue.
In his speech at the COP-27 climate summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, he added: "We support the Glasgow Agreement and provide more funds to support adaptation efforts... It is necessary to save lives.
"If we cannot reduce greenhouse gas emissions, we will not be able to adapt to higher temperatures," Kerry added.
"We will provide $25 million to contribute to African adaptation initiatives with the help of the Egyptian government, and there are already 150 billion allocated to adaptation programs in Africa. We submitted a request to US Congress for an additional $3 billion to support adaptation efforts in Africa," he continued.
