The Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem to close the UNRWA headquarters in Jerusalem and also to demand that Israeli settlers organize marches in front of the agency’s headquarters in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood joins a long series of attempts to undermine the agency.

He added: The occupation’s targeting of UNRWA is not new. Rather, there are many Israeli research centers whose goal is to catch any error, or even “fabricate” errors and present them to representatives of donor countries in order to dry up the agency’s sources.

He also said that now is the time to strengthen and support UNRWA, and not the time to weaken it and attempt to undermine it.
