The hashtag #June 30 Revolution…A will of people has topped Twitter trends on Saturday with numerous account reaches, posts and re-tweets.

The hashtag was initiated to celebrate the June 30 Revolution when millions of Egyptians took to the streets and revolted against the Muslim Brotherhood regime.

The number of demonstrators reached about 37 million.

The date June 30, 2013 was engraved into Egypt’s history as the date that Egypt freed itself from the shackles of the outlawed terrorist organization that sought to destabilize the country while pushing it to the brinks of failure.

And still, six years after the revolution, the Egyptian army that once protected the country from the dark ambitions of the Muslim Brotherhood and supported the will of millions of Egyptians, is still fulfilling its vow towards Egypt’s soil.

Some of the reasons behind ousting the Muslim Brotherhood regime include accusation of increased authoritarianism and the clear pushing through an Islamist agenda disregarding the country’s laws and constitution.

It was the largest demonstration since the 2011 Revolution that overthrew former president Hosni Mubarak.

Reasons for demanding Morsi's resignation included accusations of increasing authoritarianism and his pushing through an Islamist agenda disregarding the predominantly secular opposition or the rule of law.

The uprising concluded seven months of protests that started when the Morsi government issued a highly controversial constitutional declaration that gave him temporary sweeping powers over the state's judicial system until the new constitution was passed.

Today, on the sixth anniversary of the revolution, See News wishes to honor the martyrs of Egypt who lost their lives an all those who gathered in the public spaces of Egypt’s cities and villages in a collective effort to reclaim their rights to demand better life.
