The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation (KAN) reported that the Jordanian Crown Prince, Hussein bin Abdullah, canceled, at the last minute, a scheduled visit to the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, after a dispute over security arrangements with  Israeli officers.

According to KAN, the visit was coordinated in advance until the last detail, including the security arrangements and the number of armed guards who would enter with the Jordanian Emir.

The Israeli radio network added that when the price’s motorcade reached the border crossing, Allenby, it became clear that the Jordanians did not abide by the agreements, and apparently, they brought more security men than the agreed number, but Israel insisted on the previous agreements, which prompted the Jordanians to return to Amman, the capital city of Jordan.

For his part, the main correspondent of "Israel Hayom” an English-spoken  Israeli daily newspaper, Ariel Kahane, pointed out earlier about "the preparations of the Jerusalem police for a visit, apparently from the Arab world to the   Aqsa Mosque," and wrote in his tweet that a section on Street 1 leading to Jerusalem was closed.

And that, according to information received by "Israel Hayom", with the aim of allowing an important figure to pray at Al-Aqsa Mosque during the coming hours.

On the other hand, KAN reported two weeks ago,  that Israeli officials had approached the Jordanian Endowment Authority in Jerusalem and the Palestinian Authority to allow them to open a vaccination station on the Mosque, the third holiest shrine in Islam.

The report stated that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas opposed the Israeli initiative, and said that the order would give Israel a foothold inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

However, last Tuesday, the Jordanian government announced the suspension of the educational process in schools and universities in the Kingdom, starting from yesterday, Wednesday, until further notice, due to the increase in infections with the new Coronavirus ( known as COVID-19).
