Jordan, US Discuss Regional Developments

Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff of Jordanian Armed Forces, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, received a delegation of U.S. Congress members on Wednesday evening to discuss the latest developments in the region.

The delegation was led by Representative Darrell Issa and included Representatives Chuck Edwards, Jim Costa, and James Baird, all of whom represent committees and entities with which Jordan maintains strong and distinguished relations.

During the meeting, Major General Al-Hunaiti emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts to achieve security and stability, particularly given the exceptional circumstances facing Jordan and the region.

For their part, the U.S. delegation praised Jordan’s pivotal role under the leadership of King Abdullah II in promoting peace and regional stability. 

They reaffirmed their continued support for the strategic partnership between the United States and Jordan, particularly in the defense and security sectors.

The meeting was attended by several senior officers of the Jordanian Armed Forces and the U.S. Defense Attaché in Amman.
