Jordan: Queen Rania's Father Passes away

Jordan Queen n Rania Al Abdullah's father Dr. Faisal Sidqi Al-Yasin passed away, the Jordanian Royal Court announced on Friday.

In an official statement released by the court, it said that with the deepest sorrow, the Jordanian Court announce that the father of Queen Rania, and the grandfather of the Crown Prince Al Hussein, Prince Hashim, Princess Eman, and Princess Salma, Dr. Faisal Sidqi Al-Yasin passed away in Amman on Friday.

Al-Yasin was born in Tulkarm, Palestine in 1934, and graduated in the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. After that, he travelled to Northern Ireland to specialize in surgery.

In 1961, he moved to Kuwait after obtaining a job in the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health, to shortly afterwards open his own clinic as one of the first Arab doctors to obtain a license.

He returned to Jordan after 30 years abroad and retired.
