Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a fundraising drive to buy medicines for Ukraine, ahead of the country's Christmas holidays.
According to "The Guardian" newspaper, the timing of Johnson's invitation coincides with the approaching Christmas holidays, when many charitable events are held in the country, which are often joined by celebrities.
Johnson noted that the British are known for their generosity and open-mindedness and they show these qualities even when times are tough in the country, urging people to donate to Ukraine this Christmas.
He highlighted that the funds raised would be used to buy medicine and equipment for Ukrainian hospitals, and suggested that the donations be sent to Circle Health, which previously helped send several shipments of medicine and humanitarian aid to Kyiv, for a total of £3 million.
Paolo Peri, the head of the fund called on the British not to be indifferent to the problems of Ukrainians because of the difficulties that the British economy is currently going through.
