Johns Hopkins Univ: Coronavirus Infects 8.6 Million People, Kills 460,000

Johns Hopkins University, USA, reported today that the total number of the Coronavirus deaths in the world today reached 460,000 while the number of infections rose to 8 million and 663,270.

According to the university counter, the total number of those recovered from COVID-19 in the world reached 4 million and 246 thousand.

The number of infections in the United States of America alone reached two million and 221 thousand cases so far.

On the other hand, the infections with the deadly virus in Brazil exceeded one million by about 32.9 thousand cases.

The Brazilian health authorities also announced that Corona's total infections exceeded the one million mark, following 54,771 infections recorded during the past 24 hours.

They reported that there were 1206 new deaths from the virus, bringing the total deaths in the country to 48,954 deaths, up from Thursday's total of 47,748 deaths.

Russia remains third among the worst-infected countries in terms of the number globally, with about 569,000 cases up till now.

India and Britain comes fourth and respectively , with 395 thousand and 303.2 thousand infections in a row.

India recorded 14500 new infections with the Coronavirus during the past 24 hours.

The newly recorded cases raise the totted number to more than 395 thousand, and the death toll to about 13 thousand people.

The Indian Ministry of Health said today, Saturday, that more than 268 thousand people are currently receiving treatment in hospitals, while recovering during the last day is 9120, bringing the number of people recovering since the beginning of the outbreak of the Coronavirus to about 214 thousand people.

Despite the increase in the number of infections, the Indian authorities were instructed earlier, in a gradual exit from the health isolation system, in the first phase of the lifting of restrictions imposed in response to the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

Saudi Arabia Kingdom (SAK) is the most inflicted in the Arab countries with 150.2 thousand cases , Qatar comes second by 85.4 thousand cases, Egypt ranks third among the Arab countries hit by with 52.2 thousand cases, the United Arab Emirates ( UAE) with 44.1 thousand cases and Kuwait with 38.6 thousand cases.

The authorities indicated that the numbers rocketed significantly over the last few days.
