Joan Laporta has secured victory in the presidential election of FC Barcelona, ensuring he will continue leading the Catalan club until 2031 after defeating rival Víctor Font with a commanding majority of the vote.

Laporta won 68.18% of the ballots cast by club members, totaling 32,934 votes, while Font received 29.78% with 14,385 votes. The election also recorded 177 invalid votes and 984 blank ballots.

The victory marks Laporta’s fourth term as president of Barcelona. He previously served between 2003 and 2010 before returning to the role in 2021, overseeing the club through a challenging transitional period both financially and competitively.

During his most recent tenure, Barcelona achieved several milestones on and off the pitch.

One of the most notable developments was the reopening of the club’s iconic stadium, Spotify Camp Nou, following a comprehensive redevelopment project.

Laporta’s administration also strengthened the squad with high-profile signings including Raphinha, Marcus Rashford and Robert Lewandowski, as the club navigated a new era following the departure of legendary forward Lionel Messi.

On the sporting front, Barcelona captured two La Liga titles during Laporta’s latest presidency, along with two Copa del Rey trophies and three Supercopa de España titles.

The election, considered one of the most significant administrative events in the club’s modern history, drew strong participation from members.

Thousands voted at polling stations inside Camp Nou as well as additional locations in Girona, Tarragona, Lleida and Andorra.

Laporta now prepares to lead Barcelona into a new chapter, backed by strong support from the club’s membership and promising to continue the sporting and institutional progress achieved during his previous terms.
