The Government of Japan has announced a new aid package for Palestine worth 13.5 billion yen (approximately $100 million USD).
This funding will be delivered through international organizations, Japanese NGOs, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in response to the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the deteriorating security and economic conditions in the West Bank.
According to a statement released by Japan's Representative Office to Palestine on Tuesday, as reported by the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), the package includes various projects.
These initiatives aim to provide financial support to the Palestinian Authority, rubble and landmine removal, healthcare, hygiene, shelter, education, psychosocial support, industrial development, and food assistance.
With this package, Japan's total aid to Palestine since October 2023 will reach approximately $230 million USD, underscoring Japan’s commitment to addressing humanitarian needs and promoting stability in the region.
