The prices of building materials and steel have risen to a record level that Japan has not seen in 13 years, according to media reports.
“The prices of various types of building materials and steel have increased due to the situation in Ukraine,” Nikkei Newspaper said.
Japan’s imports of building materials from Russia and Ukraine represent 11% of the total imports of this type of materials.
The newspaper mentioned that some building materials rose by 60%, especially the wood, which the country imports from Russia to build walls and floors.
