Newly-appointed Italian Prime Minister (PM), Giorgia Meloni, thanked President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for congratulating her on heading the government, according to the Presidential spokesman Bassam Radi.
She also stressed Italy's interest in the stability of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, as well as strengthening bilateral cooperation relations with Egypt in all domains.
Two days ago, Sisi congratulated Meloni, wishing her sincere success in leading Italy towards a future that is consistent with the civilization and history of this ancient country.
The president also expressed his aspiration to work with Meloni to enhance Egyptian-Italian bilateral relations within the framework of the solid partnership that brings both countries together in all fields.
Moreover, Sisi invited the Italian PM to participate in the COP-27 global climate summit in Sharm El-Sheikh next month, saying: "I am confident that the friendly Italian Republic can play a positive and constructive role during the upcoming summit."
