Italian Prime Minister (PM) Giorgia Meloni has officially announced her candidacy in the European Parliament elections scheduled to be held next June.
During a press conference on Sunday, Meloni said that she worked to restore her country’s role in participating in European and international politics, and invited Pope Francis to attend the “G7” summit, becoming the first Pope of the Vatican to participate in that meeting.
She indicated that she contributed to reaching agreements with Arab and European countries in order to control the phenomenon of illegal immigration to her country, as well as concluding an agreement between Italy and Albania regarding migrant centers in Albanian territory.
