Italian FM Calls for Peaceful settlment to Conflict in Ukraine

Italian Deputy Prime Minister (PM) and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani stressed the need to promote every diplomatic initiative in favor of a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and avoid dangerous escalation.

This came during a phone call between Tajani and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, where they discussed the main files of international politics.

On the EU-China relations, Tajani hoped for a speedy resumption of all channels of dialogue, including those related to human rights.

Moreover, he also affirmed his country's commitment to re-launching bilateral dialogue with China and strengthening economic relations in important sectors, starting with transition and energy efficiency, expressing hope to facilitate the access of Italian food products to the Chinese market.
