A Palestinian Authority official for the Affairs of Prisoners and Ex-prisoners said, on Wednesday, that the Israeli occupation authorities arrested more than 400 worshipers during an attack on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the worshipers in it.

The official said, in a press statement, that the detainees were transferred to the “Atarot” detention center for interrogation, and that most of them are awaiting their release, on the condition that they be removed from Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramadan.

Dozens of worshipers and the elderly were injured yesterday evening, during the occupation forces storming the Qibla of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, firing rubber-coated metal bullets and gas bombs at them, and directing the sound at them.

Video clips showed that the occupation forces attacked the worshipers, violently beating them with batons and arrows, and arresting hundreds of them.

Gas bombs thrown by the occupation soldiers set fire to a part of the mosque's entrance, which was extinguished by the worshipers.

The Palestinian Red Crescent in Jerusalem stated, in a press statement, that its teams went to the Al-Aqsa Mosque to treat the wounded, but the occupation forces prevented the teams from entering the mosque and attacked them.
