The coalition government and the opposition in Israel have agreed to dissolve the Knesset (Israel’s parliament) today (Wednesday), after a vote in the first reading on the bill dissolving the 24th Knesset night Monday-Tuesday.
Knesset members took many hours of discussions that led to an agreement that includes a proposal for possible dates for the elections, which are October 25 and November 1.
The two main parties in the political sphere in the Hebrew state agreed to freeze the procedures for approving the "Accused Law", which prevents a criminal defendant from forming a government in the current Knesset, due to the narrow timetable for its approval.
Laws that regulate situations of Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank will be extended automatically.
The dissolved Knesset also agreed to increase party funding to 1.66 million shekels per member.
