Israeli Attack in Al-Aqsa Mosque Leaves 150 Injured (Videos/Photos)

Dozens of Israeli police units broke into Al-Aqsa Mosque and attacked the thousands of Muslim worshipers, media reported, adding that 152 Palestinians were injured.

Thousands of people, many of them elderly, women, and children, were performing the dawn prayer on the second Friday of Ramadan, WAFA News Agency reported.

The Israeli occupation forces stormed the courtyard of Al-Aqsa Mosque, causing panic and forcing people to rush seeking safety from the police rubber bullets, stun grenades and tear gas.

The Red Crescent said it handled dozens of injuries and transferred more than 60 people, many of them hit in the upper part of the body, to hospitals in Jerusalem as it set up a field hospital to handle the many injuries expected from the police attack.

In his remarks Thursday evening, President Mahmoud Abbas has called for the provision of urgent international protection to the Palestinian people amid an alarming Israeli escalation in the West Bank.

Abbas affirmed that the ongoing Israeli attacks against Palestinians across the occupied territories are “unbearable”.
