In the wake of widespread internal criticism in Israel of the government's refusal to comply with Ukraine's request to obtain the "Iron Dome" anti-missile system, ministers leaked information that the army and other security services in Tel Aviv were opposing, out of fears that the matter would lead to a larger crisis with Russia makes it supply Syria with similar systems, and S-300 and S-400 missiles.

A security official said yesterday (Thursday) that relations with Russia are already tense due to the official Israeli position in support of Ukraine, and have increased tension recently due to the publication of news that Israeli intelligence provided information to Ukraine about the secrets of Iranian drones used by Russia in Ukraine.

According to informed sources, for the past four weeks, the Israeli army has refrained from bombing operations in Syrian territory, for fear of Russian interference against its planes, noting that the latest Israeli raid in Syria took place on the night of September 16-17.
