Israel announced the imposition of more sanctions on the Palestinian Authority to make it "pay the price" for its recent move after the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution calling on the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to consider the issue of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.
The Israeli mini-ministerial council for political and security affairs (the Cabinet) decided, in its first meeting, the day after Benjamin Netanyahu assumed the presidency of a government that is the most right-wing in the history of Israel.
The cabinet approved the transfer of about 139 million shekels ($37.3 million) from the Palestinian Authority's funds that Israel receives in the form of customs duties, to families of victims of Palestinian attacks, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office.
