Israeli occupation forces carried out a nighttime military operation inside Syrian territory this morning, arresting a number of Palestinians, allegedly affiliated with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and planning attacks against Israel.
The operation, carried out by forces from the Alexandroni Brigade of the Israeli army's 210th Division, took place in the Syrian town of Beit Jann, located near the border with the occupied Golan Heights, amid official international silence regarding Israel's latest violation of the sovereignty of an Arab state.
Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee said in a statement on his Facebook account that the operation was carried out "based on intelligence information" and resulted in "the arrest of a number of terrorists from the Hamas terrorist organization," as he put it. They were transferred to the occupied territories for interrogation by the Israeli Intelligence Unit 504.
