The Palestinian Prisoners Club has reported that Israel continues to detain over 9300 prisoners, including at least 75 women and 250 children in its prisons.
The club highlighted these figures amidst what they described as an ongoing "genocidal war against Gaza."
According to their latest review, the Prisoners Club stated, "The occupation continues to detain over 9300 prisoners, including at least 75 women and 250 children."
They further disclosed, "This figure does not include all detainees from Gaza, estimated in the thousands.
The Israeli prison administration had previously announced the detention of 899 under the classification of 'unlawful combatant.'"
The report pointed out that the number of administrative detainees exceeds 3400 individuals. Additionally, approximately 600 prisoners are serving life sentences or face demands from the occupation for such sentences.
At the end of May, the Palestinian Prisoners Club highlighted a significant and unprecedented increase in the number of prisoners suffering from infectious skin diseases in Israeli prisons, particularly scabies.
Earlier, the Prisoners Club issued a statement emphasizing that the majority of released prisoners suffer from physical and psychological health problems.
They urged all international human rights institutions, particularly the United Nations, to "assume necessary responsibilities and go beyond mere monitoring and issuing reports and positions. They should play a role commensurate with the genocidal war the occupation continues against our people in Gaza, supported by international forces."
