Grand Imam of Al-Azhar greets the Muslim nation on the Isra’ and Mi'raj anniversary

His Eminence, Prof. Ahmad At-Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, extends sincere greetings to the Muslims masses around the world on Isra’ and Mi’raj anniversary, calling on the Lord Almighty to grant us many happy returns of this blessed occasion with the Muslim nation enjoying goodness, security and peace.

The Grand Imam confirms that the Isra’ and Mi’raj journey is a divine gift, a heavenly message, and a miracle that transcends to the laws of nature. It was a means to sustain and honor the master of humanity, and shall remain a witness to the high status of the Messenger (pbuh) with his Creator, Exalted and Glorified is He. The Grand Imam adds that, though that journey, Allah confirmed the Prophet’s authority on earth and elevated his status in heaven. He further notes that Almighty Allah make our Prophet lead other prophets in prayer, showed him the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and gave him in access to a position that no other creature has ever reached.

Al-Azhar Al-Sharif calls on the Muslims masses in the different parts of the world to draw inspiration from the abundant lessons and insights offered through that divine miracle. Such a miracle affirms that submissiveness to God is a high position and a great honor, and that life without it is a waste, loss and humiliation. Besides, it teaches us that adversity should lead us to know the Almighty Who disposes the affairs of the cosmos and Who can ward off such adversity. Moreover, Al-Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings constitute a blessed land, which Muslims should cling to, preserve and protect from the plots of the transgressors. Finally, the threat to Al-Aqsa Mosque and its people resembles a threat to the Sacred Mosque and its people.
