Irish Foreign Minister Simon Harris expressed his rejection of US President Donald Trump's proposal to resettle Palestinians in other countries, stressing the necessity of reaching a two-state solution.
Harris said - in statements reported by the British newspaper (The Independent) - that Trump's statements are "extremely disturbing" and that there is a need for a two-state solution, indicating that any idea related to displacing the population of Gaza to any other place would be clearly contradictory to the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
Harris added, "It is important for the United States to clarify Trump's statements, because the international communities have now made a great effort to achieve a ceasefire."
