Irish Deputy Prime Minister Simon Harris announced a €20 million contribution from Ireland to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to support its work in providing assistance in Gaza, the West Bank and Palestinian refugees across the Middle East.
According to the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator, the humanitarian situation in Gaza is catastrophic, with at least 47,540 people killed and more than 111,000 injured, the majority of them women and children.
