Iraq Receives 700,000 COVID-19 Vaccine Doses

The spokesperson of the Iraqi Ministry of Health and Environment Saif Badr told Sputnik on Sunday that the state received 700.000 COVID-19 vaccine doses.

He added that the received vaccines are the British AstraZeneca, the American Pfizer, and the Chinese Sinovac.

The first patch of the vaccine contained 50, 000 Sinopharm doses, while the second shipment arrived in March as a gift from China.

The total number of the given vaccines reached 215,801 doses until Saturday.

Currently, Iraq is suffering from a dramatic increase in COVID-19 infections as the country recorded 6552 new cases yesterday, in addition to new 33 deaths.

The total number of COVID-19 infections is 970,987 cases.
