Iranian state media confirmed the use of a hypersonic missile targeting the northern Israeli city of Haifa, a first in the ongoing hostilities.

Iran has reportedly launched a coordinated missile and drone attack on Israel, marking a sharp escalation in regional tensions.

According to Iran's Fars News Agency, the missiles used in the assault included the Emad, Qader, and Khaybar Shekan ballistic models, in addition to the unnamed hypersonic missile. The targets included both Haifa and Tel Aviv.

Massive Missile Barrage and Civilian Casualties

Israeli Channel 12 reported that more than 40 ballistic missiles were launched from Iranian territory on Sunday night. The attack has resulted in at least one fatality and multiple injuries in northern Israel.

Channel 13 reported one person killed and three others injured after a missile hit a location in northern Israel.

Magen David Adom, Israel’s national ambulance service, confirmed that five people were wounded in the Haifa area.

Video footage aired by Hebrew media showed a large fire erupting at a strategic facility near the port of Haifa, where multiple missiles reportedly struck.

The Israeli military confirmed that missile launches had been detected from Iran and said its air defense systems were actively engaging the threats. Sirens were activated across the country, and residents were instructed by the Home Front Command to take shelter.

Meanwhile, Iranian state television claimed the Iranian Air Force was executing a combined offensive using drones and ballistic missiles. Both Israeli Channel 13 and Army Radio indicated that further waves of missile strikes are anticipated.

Targeted Areas and Ongoing Threats

The latest wave of missile attacks appears to focus on northern Israel, particularly Haifa and the Krayot region. Israeli intelligence sources cited by Army Radio warned of ongoing Iranian preparations to continue missile launches throughout the night.
