Sources told Axios, a US news website, that Iranian officials have refused to publicly commit to de-escalation in the region, which is a US condition to remove the Iranian Revolutionary Guard from the terrorist list.
And the American website stated that "one of the last remaining sticking points that still prevent reaching an agreement on returning to the nuclear agreement with Tehran, is Iran's demands to reverse the decision of former US President Donald Trump to designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a foreign terrorist organization."
Axios reported that in recent weeks, the US envoy to Iran, Robert Malley, negotiated the point regarding the IRGC indirectly with the Iranians through the European Union Political Director Enrique Mora.
One of the proposals put forward by the United States in the negotiations was that the Biden administration removes the Iranian Revolutionary Guards of foreign terrorist organizations in exchange for a public commitment from Iran to reduce escalation in the region.
