On Saturday, Tehran announced the closure of the border between Iran and Afghanistan, and the suspension of trade exchange between the two countries across the border of Afghanistan until further notice.

"As a result of the clashes that broke out today on the border between Iran and Afghanistan, any economic exchange on the border of Milk with Afghanistan is closed until further notice,” Ayoub Kurd, the Director General of Transportation and Roads in Sistan and Baluchestan, said in an interview with Fars Agency.

The Iranian border guards in the border province of Sistan and Baluchestan earlier confirmed the occurrence of clashes with the Taliban forces, which resulted in the killing of a number of militants after an attempt to storm Iranian territory.

The Iranian border guards explained that the clash occurred due to an attempt by unknown gunmen to enter Iranian territory, which resulted in an exchange of fire between the two parties, and heavy losses among the gunmen.

According to the "IRNA" agency, this morning, the Taliban began shooting at the Sassuli border post in the Zabul region, killing two Iranian border guards, and wounding two other citizens.

And the agency announced that 3 Iranian border guards were killed after a clash broke out with Taliban forces near the Sassuli border post in the Zabul region last week.
