In a bid to combat COVID-19, IOM Egypt provided and distributed 650 Family Hygiene Kits to 650 migrants families who live in Cairo, including Nigerians, Yemenis, Sudanese, and Syrians.
Through the “Regional Response to COVID-19 in North African Countries” program, IOM Egypt employees handed over basic hygiene items to the refugees.
The kits include a number of cleaning products and personal hygiene items like soaps and towels for use by both children and adults.
This program that is sponsored and funded by the European Union aims to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and its negative consequences, according to IOM.
It's worth mentioning that the distribution took place in six migrants communities centers and was coordinated with the migrants' communities leaders.
