In collaboration with the Embassy of Indonesia in Cairo, IOM Egypt held a fruitful two-day information session for students and volunteers who work closely with the Indonesian community in Egypt.
The event reviewed critical topics such as IOM services for migrants in vulnerable situations in Egypt, the risks of migrant smuggling and trafficking, and, child protection.
The Egyptian Red Crescent, IOM’s long-standing partner, also took part in sessions on Mental Health Psychosocial Support, and Psychological First Aid.
In a statement, it said that these panel discussions enabled IOM to hear feedback from the Indonesian community regarding where and how the UN agency can improve and provide more tailored support for communities.
It's worth mentioning that this activity was supported through the COMPASS initiative, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
