US Department of Defense has reiterated the significance of its relationship with India, ahead of an upcoming visit by Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on August 23.
Sabrina Singh, deputy Pentagon press secretary, told India’s English language news channel NDTV that relations with India will remain of paramount importance, not only for Washington but also for the Indo-Pacific region.
The two sides are expected to discuss a range of bilateral and regional issues, with a primary focus on strengthening ties between the two countries.
Singh's visit marks the highest-level Indian government official to visit the US since Prime Minister Narendra Modi was sworn in for a third term in June.
