Indian local variant has been detected in four countries according to Dr. Maha Talaat, the regional advisor of the World Health Organization. The four countries are Iraq, Morroco, Jordan, and Algeria, Al Sharq reported on Wednesday.

She asserted that the world should be ready for any upcoming pandemic especially as COVID-19 exposed the weakness of the medical systems in various countries.

The advisor added that the main reason for this tragic spread of the virus in India is ignoring following the protective procedures against COVID-19.

In the same context, the WHO expressed in a report issued on Wednesday that the recent Indian variant has been found in at least 60 countries.

On the other hand, the organization underscored that all approved vaccines are effective against the mutated strains of the Coronavirus.
