The Indian Ministry of External Affairs announced that it has no plans to hold any meetings regarding Ukraine on the sidelines of the upcoming Group of Twenty (G20) summit in September.
This statement was made by spokesperson Shri Arindam Bagchi in response to a question from the Russian news agency TASS about whether world leaders would discuss the Ukrainian settlement in September on the sidelines of the G20 summit in New Delhi.
Bagchi replied, "No, definitely not."
It should be noted that the American newspaper Politico reported that a meeting on Ukraine at the level of heads of state may take place in September on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly or the G20 summit in India.
According to the newspaper, discussions are also underway to organize a more organized summit on the Ukrainian settlement later this year, but no specific dates or attendees have been mentioned.
India is chairing the G20 this year and will host the summit in New Delhi on September 9th and 10th.
