The Indian government announced today, Sunday, the recording of the first suspected case of monkeypox, which is for a person coming from abroad, explaining that there is no need to worry.
The Indian channel (NDTV) reported that the person suspected of being infected with the disease has been isolated, and samples have been taken for examination and confirmation of this infection, stressing the country's full readiness to deal with such cases, and that it has strong measures to manage and mitigate any potential risks.
It is noteworthy that monkeypox is a viral disease that is mainly spread in tropical rainforest areas in Central and West Africa, and is transmitted through close contact with an infected person or through contact with an infected animal or material contaminated with the virus, and causes fever, rash and flu-like symptoms.
