Egypt’s Ministry of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs organized a visit to Luxor for the 2nd and 3rd generation of young Egyptian expats to know more about this historic city and its rich monuments.
The young people were also keen to take a tour around the city by a stagecoach; they also bought some of the city’s famous products, including, dried plants, essential oils, spices, fabric bags, hats, and jewelry made of precious stones.
Moreover, they expressed their great admiration for Luxor city and its tourist attractions as well as the commercial markets that are characterized by an authentic taste which does not exist anywhere else.
They enjoyed a great variety of traditional Egyptian dishes such as "beans, falafel, and sweet potatoes".
On his part, Mina Nabil, one of the Egyptian youth living abroad, expressed his great happiness to visit Egypt for the first time, praising Immigration ministry’s sponsorship of such forums that link Egyptian youth residing abroad with their homeland.
He also noted that this idea reflects Egypt’s great interest in its youth.
"The program of the 2nd and 3rd generation forum this year is wonderful and enjoyable, allowing me to meet new people in Egypt and rediscover my Egyptian roots again,” another delegation member said.
