Reports have spread about the suspension of Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, who won the gold medal in the women's boxing competition at the Paris 2024 Olympics held last summer.

Various reports dropped a bombshell by announcing on their pages that the World Boxing Organization decided to suspend Imane, and prevent her from practicing the game for life, in addition to stripping her of all her titles and medals she won in her sports career.

Referring to the World Boxing Organization, there was no reference to Imane Khelif's suspension nor imposing any penalties on her, in addition to the absence of any comment from any official reports on the alleged false news.

Khelif was subjected to a strong campaign during the Olympics, but the Arab champion succeeded in winning the gold medal after a distinguished performance during the Games against Italian and Hungarian opponents.

Iman Khelif to winwin: Rumors of my suspension and stripping of my titles are ridiculous

Khelif said in a brief statement to the "winwin" website that the news about her suspension from boxing is ridiculous, and stated: "This is strange, I do not respond to these ridiculous rumors."

On his part, Kheireddine Berberi, Secretary-General of the Algerian Olympic Committee, made a statement to the "winwin" website, in which he confirmed that the rumors circulating about Khelif's suspension do not deserve a response, and said: "These trivialities do not deserve an official response, our official response was in the ring, long live Algeria."

winwin also contacted Youssef Khelifi, President of the Algerian Boxing Federation, who said about the subject: "There is nothing official about this matter, they are just rumors from media outlets targeting our champion since the Paris Olympics.. Imane is a champion with merit and worthiness, and she has proven that to everyone, and we do not pay attention to everything that is said, as an official body."
