IDSC: IT Market in Egypt to Reach $213.8 BN in 2027

The Cabinet Information and Decision Support Center said that Fitch Solutions expects the size of the information technology market (IT) in Egypt will reach $213.8 billion in 2027.

According to an infographic report issued by IDSC on Tuesday, the IT market in Egypt is expected to grow from $77 billion in 2021 to $213.81 billion in 2027.

Meanwhile, IT services are expected to grow to $36.9 billion in 2027, compared to 11.4 billion in 2021.

The market value includes the value of related goods sold by the service provider or included within the service offering. The information technology market also includes sales of computers, computer peripherals and telecommunications equipment which are used in providing IT services.

Earlier, Fitch Solutions noted that E-commerce has fast become an important consumer industry in Egypt. Its progression has been propelled by favourable government incentives, trends around the Covid-19 pandemic, and the country’s young and growing population. These factors have culminated in a flurry of tech start-ups for the e-commerce industry.
