IDSC Highlightes Sports Investments in Egypt during 2018: 2022

The Information and Decision Support Center of the Egyptian cabinet has recently released a new infographic that monitors investments in the sports sector in Egypt during the period from 2018 to 2022, according to the recent statements of the Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy.

At the level of the youth and sports infrastructure; Egypt has 1018 clubs, 4050 five-a-side stadiums, 4374 youth centers, 7 sports development centers, and sports medicine units, the latest infographic said.

During 2018/2022, Egypt won about 2646 medals and hosted about 289 championships at international, continental, and Arab levels, it added.

In the IDSC's infographic, Sobhy emphasized the volume of government investments directed to the youth and sports sectors amounted to more than 39.5 billion pounds,

He also noted that the total private sector investments to develop youth centers and sports facilities amounted to about 2.8 billion pounds, while the investments in small and service projects amounted to 2.4 billion pounds, and the total investments in the economic management of youth and sports facilities amounted to more than 8 billion pounds.

In the field of sports manufacturing, the industrial Grass Factory was established in cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production. It is the only factory in the Middle East and Africa region that relies on German raw materials of high quality and competitive prices and works to provide job opportunities and meet the needs of the local market.

The latest investments also resulted in the Al-Modon for Youth and Sports Services, which was established as a joint stock company owned by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
