I Don't Celebrate Valentine's Day Ever

I know love is powerful and gives a fresh breeze for your life, but I always dislike the idea of Valentine's Day. To me, it is a meaningless occasion. At the same time, I realize that Valentine's Day is important to many.

In my opinion, you should celebrate with your lover be it your father or mother or sister or girlfriend as Laila Elwi in Hob El Banat movie.

With all due respect to those celebrating the occasion, here are some reasons why I don't prefer celebrating Valentine:

1- You need to show love to your partner every day

This is something we all assure. Love isn't about presenting gifts and saying lovely words. It's about actions. You should express your feelings daily in a different way. Don't be a Romeo only on Valentine's Day.

2- Every year's gift may be expensive

Any lover who celebrates Valentine will get into trouble because of his confusion about which present he should buy this year for his girl or mother.

Even if you chose the present, you could find it unaffordable. Keep in mind that every lover seeks to do his best in this matter, so he tends to pay much money.

3- Not because everyone celebrates, you have to celebrate

Express your feelings to the one who you love in your way. It isn't a rule you are obliged to follow it like the other people. Try to be different and romance isn't forced.

4- Too much responsibility and pressure

I believe that anyone, who used to gift his lover, becomes under pressure. Questions like what does she expect from me? How much should I spend on this occasion? Will she be satisfied with my gift or she will compare it with her friends?

5- It seems vulgar

Plenty of red love hearts and teddy bears are in the streets and the overview is tacky. Also, singles will feel more unloved when they walk in the streets and see the couples, so they prefer to stay at home this day.
