Hungarian Foreign Minister (FM) Peter Sjärto stressed that the only correct way to resolve the conflict in Ukraine is a cease-fire and the start of peace negotiations.
"We welcome direct talks between the United States and Russia on Ukraine," the Hungarian minister said, noting that most countries support the establishment of peace as soon as possible in Ukraine.
He added that "The longer this war lasts, the more people will die and the destruction will increase," stressing at the same time that the world needs peaceful negotiations.
"That is why we must keep the channels of communication open, because only peace can save human lives," he continued.
