Hungary and China have finalized 16 cooperation agreements covering diverse sectors, notably nuclear energy.

Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary and Chinese President Xi Jinping presided over the signing ceremony, broadcasted by Hungarian television channels.

The agreements encompass investment, energy, trade, finance, customs control, agriculture, tourism, science, culture, and media.

They facilitate collaboration between governmental agencies of both nations.

The signing of these agreements comes against the backdrop of Hungary's growing interest in strengthening its ties with China, particularly in energy cooperation, while China seeks to expand its influence in Central and Eastern Europe through strategic partnerships.
